So what have we been up to lately? Well the simple answer is…a lot.  In late January, we will be launching the next version of Leftos. Without getting into too much detail, we can promise you a couple things…

Currently we have a writer from a MAJOR national women’s magazine using Leftos to connect with users for her featured article.  It’s very unique and cutting edge for a writer to use a site like Leftos to connect with real people.  We hope some of you can help her with the question, “Having trouble with orgasms?”.

On another note, we’ve discovered two great articles on the web that are definitely worth the read.

Well, It’s been over a month since we launched our Beta site, and we wanted to chime in and give you an update on our progress. Upon the beta launch, we began to implement some of the early phases of our marketing plan and we’re starting to see some really positive results. Since our launch back at the end of April we’ve gotten a lot of feedback from our users. For the past few months we’ve been analyzing that feedback and working towards the next release of our website. As of today, August 17, 2009, we’ve officially launched Leftos Beta.  So what exactly does that mean? For starters, Beta is much more user-friendly.  Our homepage has been completely redesigned...

For the past few months we’ve been analyzing that feedback and working towards the next release of our website. As of today, August 17, 2009, we’ve officially launched Leftos Beta.  So what exactly does that mean?

For starters, Beta is much more user-friendly.  Our homepage has been completely redesigned to feed We’ve also stream-lined the entire process of posting questions and opinions, simplifying it and allowing you to post directly from the homepage.

You’ll also see that we’ve integrated a point system. Now, you’ll be issued points for certain activities you perform on the site (ex: +5 points for asking a question, +3 for an answer).  The more points you earn, the more credibility you’ll have as a source of quality information on Leftos.  The users with the most Leftos Points will be highlighted on our homepage for everyone to see in our “Top Users” section.

Hey everyone…we know it’s been a while, but we’re back. We’ve been pretty busy with all kinds of Leftos things lately and we want to share a few of them with you.

Since we launched Leftos at TechNow09, back on April 23rd, 2009, we’ve been watching user interaction very carefully. We’re learning all kinds of things about our users and how they are looking to interact with our site. The testing period that we’re in right now is so important and we want to encourage everyone to check out the site and tell us what you think by entering your feedback at the bottom of the right sidebar (it’s on every page, you can’t miss it).

So, what’s new with us lately? Here’s a few pieces of news:

The Open Version

After some great feedback from our user’s over the past month, we decided to open up Leftos.com. This simply means that you no longer have to sign up for an account, or login, to browse the site and look at content. Check it out if you haven’t already, we’re pretty pleased with the way it came out

We Got an Office

Yep, that’s right. We’ve upgraded from our bedrooms, and kitchen’s, to a nice professional looking office, with all the amenities we could ask for. After our presentation at TechNow09, we were handed a business card from the I.P. Law firm “Young & Basile” in Troy, MI. We were told they were launching an incubator in their offices and they were interested in speaking with us. After a lunch meeting and a thorough review of our company, Leftos was officially invited to be the first company in the North Woodward Tech Incubator. On Monday, June 8th, we moved into our space inside the incubator, or as we like to call it…The Leftos World Headquarters, ha. What a sweet deal though…it’s a not-for-profit incubator (rent-free), internet, phone service, access to board rooms, adminstrative support, and individual furnished offices, are all at no cost to the startup. We also have access to legal and accounting services, 3rd party service providers at a discounted rate, networking opp.’s with investors, and a designated mentor with experience in our industry. Young & Basile really has put together something great with this incubator and if you are a startup in the southeastern Michigan Area, I highly suggest submitting an application Here.

PickUp Podcast and The Art of Charm

Some other news that we’re really excited about is a new partnership were working on with a company called The Art of Charm and more specifically, PickUpPodcast, their popular podcast. They’ll be discussing some of the best content found on Leftos, on their podcast as well as their sirius satellite radio show, Game On, which airs every friday at 8pm on Sirius ch. 109 and XM channel 139. We’re really excited to be working with these guys and we’re looking forward to more great opportunities to integrate our services in the future.

Ya, I know…it’s been a month since our last post. It’s been with good reason though. Preparation for our launch has been an exhausting process filled with early mornings, late nights, and countless hours of work by the Leftos Team. From sign ups, to design work, to programming…we’ve pushing hard to get Leftos Alpha ready to launch. So heres the big announcement:

On Thursday April 23rd, we will officially launch Leftos.

The launch will take place later on in the day at which point you’ll be able to visit www.leftos.com, sign up, and start using the site. If you’ve already signed up for our launch, we will notify you by email that the site is live. We officially wrapped up development on Friday, April 17th, and since then we’ve been testing out the site with a select group of users to give us feedback and post content. So far, we’ve received an overwhelming response from our users and we are very excited to launch.

To add to the chaos, we’ve also been hard at work preparing for TechNow09, the event that we will be presenting at on Thursday night…(hmm, what a coincidence it’s the same night as our launch…). The event promises to be a really fun night for everyone, and with an estimated 700 people in attendance, it should be a great opportunity to showcase Leftos.

It’s finally here and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on. Stay tuned on Thursday night for the Launch of Leftos Alpha.
