Since our launch back at the end of April we’ve gotten a lot of feedback from our users. For the past few months we’ve been analyzing that feedback and working towards the next release of our website. As of today, August 17, 2009, we’ve officially launched Leftos Beta.  So what exactly does that mean?

For starters, Beta is much more user-friendly.  Our homepage has been completely redesigned to feed  We’ve also stream-lined the entire process of posting questions and opinions, simplifying it and allowing you to post directly from the homepage.

You’ll also see that we’ve integrated a point system. Now, you’ll be issued points for certain activities you perform on the site (ex: +5 points for asking a question, +3 for an answer).  The more points you earn, the more credibility you’ll have as a source of quality information on Leftos.  The users with the most Leftos Points will be highlighted on our homepage for everyone to see in our “Top Users” section.

Another new feature that you’ll see in Leftos Beta is the addition of Avatars (profile pictures). Now you can customize your profile and build your “Leftos Identity” by uploading your own picture (not a pic of you though if you want to remain anonymous) or selecting one of our preloaded avatar designs that we’ve created for you.

We also have added sharing features throughout the entire site.  You now have the ability to share any question, answer, and/or opinion on your favorite social networks like Twitter or Facebook, or you can email posts to people as well. If you know someone who doesn’t use Leftos but might benefit from a post, now you can simply enter their e-mail address in the “Send To…” section, and send it to them.

We’ve also added a unique feature here that we think you could have a lot of fun with—the ability to email posts anonymously. We’ve already been having some good laughs testing this feature out, and we bet you will to. Please see the picture below as an example….
