While watching a documentary on Current TV called Porn 2.0 which went behind the scenes in the porn industry, the founder of Kink.com, Peter Acworth explained how the pornography industry has historically been an early adopter of new technologies.

Well it seems to be true again.  While reading TresSugar.com today, we came across an article called Sex to the Future: 3D Porn and Robot Sex which highlights the release of the world’s first sex robot named Roxxxy.  According to the article, Roxxxy has “flesh like synthetic skin and a life-like skeleton”.  She also comes with several different personalities to help her seem more life like.

Ya, you’re not alone — this raised a few eyebrows around here too, and not in the “oh that’s interesting” kind of way, but more in the “wow that’s creepy, what’s this world coming to” kind of way. Its hard to imagine this catching on outside of the fetish/perv. community, but hey…ya never know.  Here’s our take: When you’re having trouble finding a significant other or picking someone up at the bar, maybe there’s a few things you could try before hopping into bed with some circuit boards .  Instead, communicate with others who’ve had similar problems. See if you can gather a few new techniques or see what you can learn from someone of the opposite sex.   At the end of the day you’ll be a whole lot happier when you’re lying in bed next to a real, living, breathing, good ol’ fashion human being…not your new $7000 sex robot.
